This event takes place in Lisle Illinois every year around the Independence Day holiday. The festival features hot air balloon launches, balloon glows, carnival rides, craft show, food, concerts, and multiple nights of spectacular fireworks displays.

If you enjoy hot air balloons there is an opportunity to volunteer to help with the balloon crews. This puts you right on the launch field helping to inflate the balloons, hold them down, and pack them up.  If you are lucky you might even get a tethered ride! If you think that summertime is hot wait until you are standing next to the propane flame that inflates the balloons and holds them aloft! The immense size and scale of some of the specialty balloons, like the Energizer Bunny, is really something to see while standing right under them.
